  • Our process ensures 98% of all cannabinoids, terpenes, and other beneficial phytocompounds present are active.

THE IMPORTANCE OF LAB TESTING

Understanding the cannabinoid content in any cannabis product you consume is important- especially with edibles. Because everyone’s experience with cannabis-infused edibles will be different, it is important to understand lab testing results

CANNABINOID POTENCY

Terpenes
All plants, including cannabis, have terpenes. A third-party lab test is used to identify which terpenes (and their amount) are in a specific cannabis strain. The resin glands on plants produce the smell and taste possess their own therapeutic properties. When combined with beneficial cannabinoids, terpenes produce many health benefits.

CBD/THC ratio

While there are many beneficial cannabinoids derived from cannabis, the two most commonly tested cannabinoids are THC and CBD. THC may produce a psychoactive or high feeling whereas CBD is non-psychoactive in nature.

PESTICIDES

If the cannabis grown is treated with any pesticide, fungicide, or herbicide, a screening will show any levels of these harmful contaminants.

RESIDUAL SOLVENTS

Solvents are used when extracting beneficial terpenes and cannabinoids from a cannabis plant. Solvents used in the extraction process may leave residual chemicals like ethanol, acetone, propane, and carbon dioxide. These residual compounds may be harmful.

MOULD & BACTERIA

If the cannabis plant has mould or bacteria present at the time of harvest, a microbiological test can detect these contaminants. Consuming high levels of mould and bacteria can have adverse side effects.

HEAVY METALS

Heavy metals like aluminum should never be present in cannabis or cannabis-infused products. Through third-party testing, trace amounts of heavy metals can be identified.
